Coenzyme Q10 is a fat-soluble, vitamin-like substance naturally present throughout the body. It is particularly concentrated within the mitochondria, the cellular structures involved in producing energy.

Ubiquinone is the oxidised form of CoQ10. Within the body, ubiquinone and ubiquinol are naturally converted into one another as part of CoQ10’s biological cycle.

Because CoQ10 is fat-soluble and naturally has limited absorption, this formula combines it with γ-cyclodextrin, a carrier designed to improve its dispersion and bioavailability. Research supports improved absorption of a CoQ10–γ-cyclodextrin complex, although the specific claim of “up to 18 times greater absorption” should only be used if Soriabel can provide evidence for this exact formulation and dosage. The cited Terao study used a different 30 mg preparation in 22 healthy adults.
