From Bergamo to Hollywood, Claudia Pievani has led Miomojo with a rare fusion of elegance and conviction. Her leadership is not just about creating beautiful accessories, it is about redefining what it means to be a fashion brand in the 21st century.

Roots, Passion & Early Days

Claudia grew up immersed in fashion. Her mother ran a small clothing shop, and from a young age Claudia helped with selecting fabrics, preparing goods, and managing inventory. That hands-on upbringing left a deep imprint, she developed a love for refined, quiet palettes and a distaste for loud colors. Before founding Miomojo, Claudia worked as an export manager and consultant in fashion, witnessing firsthand the industry’s hidden costs, waste, animal suffering, environmental degradation. She resolved to build something different, a brand where every decision, from materials to partnerships, would align with compassion.

Pillars of Her Philosophy

Claudia often asks three guiding questions for every decision, is it kind, is it necessary, is it useful? That framework shapes everything, product lines, supplier relationships, even charitable allocations.

She often repeats, “Luxury must be intelligent.” Beauty alone is not enough. A truly evolved product must also think about where it comes from, how it impacts ecosystems, and how it aligns with deeper values.

Milestones, Obstacles & Bold Moves

  • Material experimentation: Claudia led Miomojo’s pioneering use of apple byproducts, olives, corn, and other agricultural waste to create vegan “leathers.”

  • Donating 10% of sales: From its inception, Miomojo committed 10% of every sale toward animal welfare causes such as PETA, Four Paws, and Mercy for Animals.

  • Battling skepticism & resistance: In its early days, Claudia recalls being laughed at by traditional leather artisans and facing skepticism about the viability and durability of plant-based materials. She persisted, insisting on quality, thorough testing, and incremental proof.

  • Stepping into new territories: Claudia has signaled the next frontier, mycelium-based leather is under testing at Miomojo. In her words, these lab-grown materials represent a genuine game-changer in cruelty-free luxury.

Looking Ahead

Claudia envisions a fashion system where kindness is the norm, not the exception. She dreams of Miomojo becoming a catalyst for change, a brand that prompts consumers, designers, and factories to rethink what luxury can be. Her ambition includes expansion to new markets like China and the U.S., and scaling impact without diluting integrity.

In Claudia’s hands, Miomojo is never static. It evolves, tests, challenges, and invites the world to imagine a more beautiful, compassionate future, one bag at a time.
