Pipa Cha

Beschreibung

Pipa Chá is a unique oolong tea crafted by Chá Camélia in northern Portugal. The tea leaves matured for six months in used port barrels from Niepoort Winery in Porto, slowly absorbing subtle aromas of port and oak that shape the tea’s layered and distinctive character.

The base is a Chinese oolong tea refined in Portugal. Through barrel aging, the tea develops notes of dried fruit, honey and chocolate, together with a recognizable port wine nuance. The result is a rich yet elegant tea with depth and warmth.

The infusion carries aromas of ripe fruit and wood. With each re-steeping, new layers appear, from gentle sweetness to warm, wine-like accents that linger.

Tea Garden

Cha Camelia

In the north of Portugal, a few kilometres from the Atlantic coast, Nina Gruntkowski and Dirk Niepoort planted tea bushes on an abandoned vineyard near Vila do Conde. The Atlantic climate, with its humid air and mineral soil, gives the tea a character of its own: fresh, lightly saline and found nowhere else.

After eight years of care, the first harvest followed in 2019. Processing is done entirely by hand, using techniques the founders learned from Japanese tea masters. Chá Camélia is thus one of the few European tea gardens to enjoy international recognition.

Tea Kulture

Every remarkable tea begins long before it reaches your cup. It begins in living soil, in mountain mists, in the patient hands of tea masters who have spent generations perfecting their craft. At Tea Kulture, tea is not simply a beverage it is a celebration of nature, culture and human connection.

Working directly with exceptional tea gardens across Asia, Africa and Europe, Tea Kulture brings together rare loose-leaf teas that reflect the unique terroir of their origin. Every harvest tells the story of its landscape, its climate and the people who dedicate their lives to cultivating it with respect for nature. By choosing direct trade, supporting local communities and preserving traditional craftsmanship, Tea Kulture demonstrates that exceptional tea can nourish not only those who drink it, but also the people and ecosystems that make it possible.

At Farmatuur, we believe that a love affair with nature is also a love affair with tea. Every leaf carries the quiet intelligence of the landscape from which it grows, inviting us to slow down, reconnect and appreciate the extraordinary beauty that nature offers in its purest form.
