Carmen and Jip first crossed paths on the beach while kitesurfing, a meeting that sparked not only love but a shared dream. As surfers and nature-lovers, their lives revolve around the elements, and so does their work. Their mission is simple yet bold: to create sunscreen that protects skin, respects the sea, and supports a future where people and planet thrive together.

Every ingredient is chosen with purpose. From sustainably sourced beeswax and illipe butter that lock in moisture, to antioxidant-rich oils of carrot seed and vanilla, each component contributes to skin health while staying kind to ecosystems. Their formulas are crafted in small batches, packed in recyclable tins, and designed to be as nourishing to the earth as they are to you.

Sol Mate is more than a brand, it’s a step towards Carmen and Jip’s ultimate dream: regenerating land in Indonesia, building a sanctuary for wildlife, and creating a place where humans can reconnect with nature. Until then, every tin sold brings them, and all of us, a little closer to that vision.
